Prof. Yang received the B.Sc. degree in engineering physics from Beijing University, China, in 1987, the first of his two M.Sc. degrees in biophysics from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 1990, the second M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Houston, USA, in 1996, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada, in 1999. Currently he is a Professor and the Head of the Advanced Robotics and Intelligent Systems (ARIS) Laboratory at the University of Guelph. Prof. Yang’s research interests include robotics, artificial intelligence, sensors and signal processing, multi-sensor fusion, wireless sensor networks, intelligent control, and computational neuroscience. Prof. Yang has published over 600 papers, including over 330 journal papers (over 70 in IEEE Transactions). Prof. Yang he has been very active in professional activities. He currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Intelligence & Robotics, and International Journal of Robotics & Automation, and an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, IEEE Transactions on Artificial Intelligence, and several other international journals. He has involved in the organization of many international conferences.

Kaoru Sumi is a professor in Future University Hakodate, Japan. Prof. Sumi received her Ph.D. in engineering from the University of Tokyo. She is currently working on Human Agent Interaction, Persuasive technology, Artificial Intelligence in Education, Affective Computing, and Interactive Digital storytelling. She previously worked at ATR MI&C Research Laboratories, Communications Research Laboratory, and Osaka University, National Institute of Information and Communications Technology and Hitotsubashi University. She was a visiting professor in British Columbia, Canada. ACM Senior Member, IEEE Senior Member, IEEE Sapporo Section Board of Directors, IEEE Women in Engineering Sapporo Section Chair.

Fadhil Mukhlif Received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from University of Tikrit, Iraq in 2010, M.Eng. in Telecommunication Systems from University Technical Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), Malaysia in 2013 and PhD. Eng. in Computer Networks & Wireless from Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia in 2020. He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Information Assurance and Security Research Group (IASRG), Faculty of Computing, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor, Malaysia. His research interest mainly includes Computer Networks, AI, Machine & Deep Learning, Cyber Security, Game Theory, Telecommunication Networks, UAV, IoT, WSN, Cloud Networks.

Dr. Younbo Jung is Associate Professor and Associate Chair - Academic at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Dr. Jung earned his Ph.D. at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California. In teaching, Dr. Jung received four teaching-related awards at NTU, including Nanyang Education Award (University) – Bronze in 2014. He is the inaugural Fellow of Teaching Excellence Academy since 2014. In research, his interests include socio-psychological effects of interactive media such as video games, virtual reality systems, human-robot interaction, and their applications in education and medical aids. For example, his research examined the use of virtual reality and haptics-enhanced systems for learning motor functions in stroke rehabilitation, patient/clinician distribution platform with tele-rehabilitation application, the Internet and computer training for seniors, the effect of social robots' embodiment on their meaningful social interaction with humans, and the use of video games and social TV for seniors' subjective well-being and intergenerational bonding. Dr. Jung supports interdisciplinary research and has successfully collaborated on many research projects with scholars in computer science, electrical engineering, physical therapy, and social work.

Dr. U Kei Cheang is presently an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). In 2015, he completed his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering at Drexel University, where he held the NSF GRFP, NSF IGERT, and NSF EAPSI Fellowships. Dr. Cheang joined SUSTech in 2017 and has been leading a team as an independent PI to develop micro- and nanorobots. His work on robotic microswimmers received the UNESCO Netexplo Top 10 Award in 2016. Dr. Cheang was awarded the MOST High-End Foreign Expert Award in 2019 and the Shenzhen Excellent Young Scholars Award in 2022.

Audrey Huong is an Associate Professor of Electronic Engineering and a researcher at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia with twenty years’ experience, where she has actively involved in numerous innovation projects. She served as Editor, Conference Chair, a reviewer for numerous referred journals and as theses examiner. She has successfully published in more than 89 WoS and Scopus journals and has attended 35 international conferences as a presenter and keynote speaker in Science Web Meetings (2022&2023). She has received several awards and recognition for her works, both international and local. One of her innovations was featured in Laser Focus World magazine (USA) in 2020 and was shortlisted in the IET Excellence and Innovation Awards, UK (2021). She has collaborated with the Department of Orthopedic Hospital Sultanah Nora Ismail in Malaysia (20162019) to improve patients’ foot care and with SWEDL institution from Japan (2018-2020) and the University of North Dakota in United States (2020-2022) on research and innovations related to healthcare. Her research interests include deep learning and computer vision, and the design and optimization of imaging systems. She is a Professional Engineer, a Chartered Engineer of the IET, London UK, and a senior member of the IEEE, USA.
